Art

Here at St Francis Primary, art is at the centre of everything we do. We believe that art is a form of expression and encourages opportunities for children to develop their understanding of, and respond to the world around them.

We believe it is our responsibility to empower every child to achieve self-fulfilment and provide them with the knowledge and skills that they need to reach their full potential. We are all committed to developing a learning environment where everyone can create, perform and explore for themselves and with each other.

Art is a fundamental part of the curriculum. Through art, we offer our children:

A broad range of opportunities to practice and refine drawing, painting, sculpture and other artistic techniques.
An opportunity to explore being creative through producing innovative, expressive and unique pieces of work, allowing them to explore and apply new ideas.
The ability to think independently and to persevere when faced with challenges, showing a confidence of success.
An enthusiasm and passion for the subject.
