What we do
As governors, our primary focus is to enable and support the Headteacher in our shared goal of providing the best possible education for our children. The Governing Body provides:-
- Strategic Direction: helping to set the broad strategy for school development and monitoring how this is working
- Executive Body: the governing body has statutory duties
- Challenge/Support: to be the school's "critical friend" by challenging and supporting the school's leadership team.
- Sustainability: maintaining effectiveness of the Governing Body.
The governing body works in partnership with the school through regular meetings of the governing body and its committees and through formal and informal visits made to the school when we have an opportunity to talk to the children, staff and Headteacher.
We have two committees, Curriculum (covering matters of teaching and learning) and Resources (covering financial and other non-teaching matters).
